For the sixth time this year, the Vandebilt Catholic girls’ cross country team has won a first-place team championship.

The Lady Terriers’ latest victory came with a first-place finish at the AllState Sugar Bowl Meet held at City Park in New Orleans on Saturday.

Vandebilt competed against heavy competition from across the state, but it managed to score 82 points to get the victory over runner-up Mandeville. Leading runners for the Lady Terriers were Brynn Kelso (second; 18 minutes, 41.47 seconds), Caroline Lindsay (13th, 19:39.41) and Katherine Cazayoux (22nd, 20:12.56).

E.D. White finished 12th in the girls’ race and got a 15th place finish from Abbey Marie Ratcliff (19:40.92).

In the boys race, E.D. White had the highest team finish at ninth overall and their leading runner was Braedon Methvin (sixth, 16:22.87). Thibodaux finished 10th in the team standings and got a fourth place finish from Luke Sweatman (16:10.74).
