The North Bay Haven and Bozeman volleyball teams each claimed district championships on Thursday night.

For the Buccaneers, it was their first in five years, last winning as a 3A team back in 2014.

For the Bucks, it was the first in the program’s history.

NBH took the 1-4A crown by beating Pensacola in three sets: 28-26, 25-21, 25-14 at Walton High School.

The Buccaneers (19-7) will next host a Region 1-4A quarterfinal playoff game on Thursday.

Amaya Bazemore led North Bay Haven with 21 kills and six blocks, while Kumara Flanagain added 10 kills and three blocks. Caroline Peaden had six kills.

Morgan Cox was the top playmaker with 34 assists to go with eight service points, with Cheyenne Moss leading with 16 digs and 11 service points.

Taylor Waddell added 14 digs and Kayla Harding finished with 11 digs and six service points. Laurel Dudley had nine digs and 12 service points.

Katelyn Witt added four kills and two blocks.

Bozeman had to go to five sets to get its championship in the District 3-4A title match, knocking off Wewahitchka 25-9, 20-25, 12-25, 25-23, 15-9 in Eastpoint.

The Bucks will host a Region 2-1A semifinal match on Thursday.
