Washington State University junior receiver Davontavean Martin found the end zone for the first time this season during a game against Northern Colorado on Saturday.

Martin, a former Ellender High School star, caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trey Tinsley in the fourth quarter of a 59-17 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday in Pullman, Wash.

Martin finished with three receivers for 38 yards against Northern Colorado. His longest catch was of 25 yards.

So far this season, Martin has eight catches for 95 yards and one touchdown. He is averaging 11.9 yards per catch and 47.5 yards per game.

Washington State (2-0 overall) will travel to play the University of Houston in Houston at 8:15 p.m. Friday. The game will be televised on ESPN.

LOUISIANA TECH

Louisiana Tech University junior defensive back Amik Robertson, a former Thibodaux High standout, made five tackles (three assists, two solo) during a 20-14 win over Grambling State in Ruston on Saturday.

Robertson also had two pass breakups and one quarterback hurry for the Bulldogs, who improved to 1-1 overall and will travel to play Bowling Green at 4 p.m. Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio.

ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO

Arkansas-Monticello senior receiver Ralph Singleton, a former Ellender player, had one catch for 6 yards during a 26-23 overtime win over Arkansas Tech on Sept. 5.

Singleton also had one kickoff return for 25 yards.

Arkansas-Monticello junior receiver Curtis Anderson, another former Ellender player, also played in the game for the Boll Weevils (1-0), who will take on Harding University at 6 p.m. Saturday in Searcy, Ark.

SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Southwest Mississippi sophomore defensive lineman Damarcus Mitchell, a former Thibodaux High athlete, finished second on the team with 10 tackles (four solo, six assists), one tackle for a loss, one sack and a forced fumble during a 29-10 loss to Northwest Mississippi last week.

Southwest Mississippi played East Central Community College at 7 p.m. Thursday in Summit, Miss. Check back next week for Mitchell’s stats from that game.

EAST CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE

East Central freshman defensive lineman Josh Ratcliff, a former Assumption High athlete, had four tackles (three solo, one assists) and one pass breakup during a 34-14 win over Itawamba Community College on Sept. 5.

Ratcliff has five tackles, three sacks and one pass breakup so far this season for East Central, who played Southwest Mississippi on Thursday. Check back next week for Ratcliff’s stats from that game.

LOUISIANA COLLEGE

Louisiana College freshman defensive lineman Le’Kelan Bougere, a former H.L. Bourgeois player, had his first college action during the Wildcats’ 58-13 loss to Stetson last week in DeLand, Fla.

Bougere recorded one tackle during the game.

Louisiana College junior defensive lineman Hayden Breaux, a former Vandebilt Catholic player, had one tackle and one pass breakup for the Wildcats. Louisiana College freshman offensive lineman Johnny Carter III, a former Terrebonne player, also participated in the game.

Louisiana College will travel to Belhaven at 7 p.m. Saturday in Jackson, Miss.

PRAIRIE VIEW

Prairie View sophomore defensive lineman Jason Dumas, a former St. James athlete, had three tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks during a 37-17 loss to the University of Houston last week.

Prairie View will host Nicholls State at 6 p.m. Saturday in Prairie View, Texas.

TEXAS SOUTHERN

Texas Southern junior defensive back Marquel Daigle, a former Covenant Christian Academy athlete, had four tackles (all solo) with one sack during a 63-44 loss to Incarnate Word last week in San Antonio, Texas.

Texas Southern will play Louisiana-Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Cajun Field in Lafayette.

TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO

Roadrunners junior quarterback Lowell Narcisse, a former St. James athlete, completed 6-of-9 passes for nine yards during a 63-14 loss to Baylor in Waco, Texas, last week. As a backup quarterback, he came in for starter Frank Harris.

Narcisse had three carriers for 12 yards in the game for Texas-San Antonio, who will play Army at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.

KILGORE COLLEGE

Kilgore sophomore defensive tackle Sedrick Williams, a former Ellender player, finished with four tackles (two solo and assists each) and one quarterback hurry during a 35-26 win over New Mexico Military Institute last week.

Kilgore is tied for second in the NJCAA football rankings this week. Kilgore will play Cisco College at 7 p.m. Saturday in Kilgore, Texas.
