NAPOLEONVILLE – E.D. White Catholic’s volleyball team made a run to the semifinals of the Lady Mustang Classic held at Assumption High on Saturday.

But the Lady Cardinals hopes of winning the tournament title ended with a loss to Teurlings Catholic in the semifinals 25-23, 14-25, 11-15.

It was the first loss of the season for the Lady Cardinals (5-1 overall). They defeated Destrehan (25-13, 25-16) and Thibodaux (25-12, 25-19) to finish first in their pool play competition before falling to Teurlings on Saturday.

Teurlings moved on to defeat University to win the tournament title 25-18, 25-15.

ASSUMPTION

The Lady Mustangs (3-2 overall) finished with a 3-1 record at the tournament, beating University Lab (21-25, 25-21, 16) on Thursday, losing to St. Amant (25-23, 22-25, 9-15) on Thursday, beating Chalmette (25-8, 25-18) on Friday and defeating Lusher (25-11, 25-6).

H.L. BOURGEOIS

The Lady Braves (4-1 overall) placed second in their pool behind Notre Dame and finished with a 3-1 record at the tournament.

On Saturday, H.L. Bourgeois defeated Central Catholic (21-25, 27-25, 15-11) and Lusher (25-17, 25-20).

THIBODAUX

The Lady Tigers (4-2 overall) fell to E.D. White (12-25, 19-25) and defeated Houma Christian (25-14, 25-13).

SOUTH LAFOURCHE

The Lady Tarpons had a 1-3 overall record at the tournament, defeating Central Lafourche (25-11, 25-17) and falling to Sam Houston (23-25, 25-23, 10-15).

CENTRAL LAFOURCHE

The Lady Trojans (2-4 overall) went 1-3 at the tournament. They beat Sam Houston (27-25, 22-25, 16-14) before losing to Fontainebleau (14-25, 15-25), South Lafourche (11-25, 17-25) and Teurlings (13-25, 5-25).

HOUMA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The Lady Warriors (0-4 overall) fell to Thibodaux (14-25, 13-25) and East Ascension (17-25, 17-25) on Saturday.

VANDEBILT WINS EPISCOPAL TOURNAMENT

At the Episcopal of Baton Rouge tournament on Saturday, the Lady Terriers (6-0 overall) finished with a perfect record and picked up wins over Brusly (25-11, 25-8), False River (25-18, 25-18), Episcopal-Baton Rouge (25-8, 25-6) in pool play.

Vandebilt beat Central-Baton Rouge (25-22, 25-21) in the semifinals and St. Joseph’s Academy (21-25, 25-21, 15-10) in the tournament championship game.

TERREBONNE AT LEE MAGNET TOURNAMENT

At the Lee Magnet tournament in Baton Rouge, the Lady Tigers (4-3 overall) beat Live Oak (25-11, 21-25, 15-9) and Northeast (25-8, 25-11) before losing to Ben Franklin (22-25, 21-25) and Lee Magnet (25-24, 23-25, 13-15).

Daycie Theriot and Inayah Pink represented Terrebonne on the all-tournament team.

ELLENDER AT FRANKLIN TOURNAMENT

At the Franklin tournament, the Lady Patriots (3-2 overall) beat Northwest (25-5, 25-16), Opelousas (25-17, 25-23) and Abbeville.

Tyshauna Hester led Ellender with five kills and an ace against Northwest, and Tanisha Hester had four kills and a block.

Tanisha Hester had two kills and a block with four aces against Opelousas, and CeCe Stadium had two kills and two aces.

SOUTH TERREBONNE AT WOODLAWN-BATON ROUGE TOURNAMENT

At Baton Rouge, the Lady Gators (0-6 overall) fell to Denham Springs (25-18, 25-11), Ruston (25-15, 25-19), Archbishop Chapelle (25-21, 25-18) and Madison Prep (25-21, 25-13).

COVENANT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY AT FRANLIN TOURNAMENT

At the Franklin tournament, the Lady Lions (2-1) fell to Franklin (8-25, 9-25). The rest of the scores weren’t available.
