AREA GAMES RAINED OUT

While Secca and Taco Bell were able to play their game on Thursday, eight other teams weren’t so lucky as thunderstorms and wet field conditions forced several games to get postponed.

Games postponed due to weather on Thursday were Thibodaux (Reeco Rental and Supply) at Assumption (LA Contractors/Barbera Chevrolet), South Terrebonne (South Louisiana Bank) at Ellender (Phillies), H.L. Bourgeois at Central Lafourche (Jester’s Court) and E.D. White Catholic (Synergy Bank) at South Lafourche (Grand Isle Shipyard).

No makeup dates have been set for any of the postponed games on Thursday.

Weather has caused problems for several Southland teams this week.

Thibodaux (Reeco Rental and Supply) and South Lafourche (Grand Isle Shipyard) tried to play a doubleheader on Wednesday in Galliano before area rains postponed it with no makeup dates set.

The Berwick (Taco Bell) at South Lafourche (Grand Isle Shipyard), South Terrebonne (South Louisiana Bank) at Thibodaux (Reeco Rental and Supply) and E.D. White Catholic (Synergy Bank) at Terrebonne (Seeca) games were all washed out Tuesday with no makeup dates set yet.

One game -- Assumption (LA Contractors/Barbera Chevrolet) at Central Lafourche (Jester’s Court) – started on Tuesday and completed the first inning before it was stopped because of the rain. LA Contractors/Barbera Chevrolet led 2-1 when the game was called. No date has been set for the resumption of the game.

On Monday, two Swampland games -- H.L. Bourgeois at South Terrebonne (South Louisiana Bank) and E.D. White Catholic (Synergy Bank) at Ellender (Phillies) -- were postponed due to rain with no make-up dates set. Three Swampland games were played as scheduled.

After the opening week completed with no rainouts, Week 2 was plagued by rain with six games, including the entire June 5 slate, postponed due to inclement weather.
