It’s safe to say Wednesday was not Gadsden City’s day.

The Titans fell to Spain Park 22-0 at home in high school baseball. Whether it was errors, not reaching base, giving up hits, everything snowballed on Gadsden City.

The Jaguars grabbed a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Sam Dozier brought the first two runs around on a single. Later in the first with two outs, a fly ball was hit to Baylor Partridge at second base. The ball bounced out of his glove and two more runs came across.

In the bottom half of the inning, Gadsden City got two runners on base. Hudson James reach on a walk then Austin Correll beat out a throw to first for an infield single. James moved to second on Correll's single, and that's the furthest either got.

Spain Park added five runs in the second and one run in each of the third and fourth innings to grab an 11-0 lead.

Then things got worse for Gadsden City in the fifth inning as the Jaguars doubled their lead with 11 more runs on seven hits. Spain Park was just one batter away from batting around the lineup twice in the inning.
