H.L. Bourgeois senior basketball player Anthony Rainey Jr. scored 24 points to lead the Braves to a 80-77 win in overtime over Terrebonne on Wednesday.

Rainey became H.L. Bourgeois’ all-time leading scorer during the game. He surpassed the previous record holder Ranney Davis, who played from 1996-99.  

Terrebonne led 20-17 after the first quarter. H.L. Bourgeois led 38-37 at halftime, and the score was tied at 54 after the third quarter and at 73 at the end of regulation.

Anthony Ruffin Jr. had 23 points for the Braves, while Deondre Buggage scored 12 points. Buggage hit two key free throws late in the win. 

KeShawn James led Terrebonne with 29 points, while Jahki Douglas scored 17 points and Justin Wallis had 16 points. 

The Braves improved to 22-10 overall and 7-4 in district. Terrebonne dropped to 7-21 overall and 0-11 in district.
