A much quicker Bolles Bulldogs team defeated the South Walton Seahawks 8-2 in the Class 2A Girls Soccer Regional Finals Tuesday night at South Walton High.

“They were just a good team all the way around,” said South Walton Coach Joe Ribaudo of Bolles. “They had no weakness and moved the ball very well … and were very quick to the ball.

“I tried to stress how good they were. Kudos to them, they were a very good team,” he added

Nevertheless, Ribaudo was proud of his Seahawks, who finished the season 15-2.

“This is the best season of any soccer program the school has ever had,” he said. “I’m very proud of them. We now know where we need to be to go to state.”

In Tuesday’s Regional Final, Bolles scored first with Amelia Emas giving a back kick to the ball into the net about 20 minutes into the first half.

About 10 minutes later, Ariana Munoz scored for the Bolles Bulldogs. With six minutes to go in the first half, Emas scored again with a kick from the left side and into the right corner of the net for a 3-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Bolles scored in the first minute on a goal from Munoz. About 15 minutes later, Munoz booted in another goal. Two minutes later, Emas kicked a diagonal shot into the net for a 6-0 advantage.

With 25 minutes to go, Bolles’ Olivia Candelino scored for a 7-0 game.

Not giving up, the Seahawks finally got on the board with Natalie Wilson kicking one in the right corner of the net on an assist from Jess Garey with 23 minutes to go.

About seven minutes later, Garey got a goal of her own on a shot right up the middle for a 7-2 game.

Bolles scored one last time with less than seven minutes to play on a goal from Abby Lynch.

With the win, Bolles advances to the state tournament.
