NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The New Orleans Baby Cakes pitching staff silenced the Nashville Sounds on Monday in a pair of games.

New Orleans and Nashville wrapped up a suspended game from April, as the Baby Cakes defeated the Sounds 1-0, and in the nightcap New Orleans blanked Nashville 6-0.

In Game 1, Brandon Barnes singled in the sixth inning and scored on a Chad Hinshaw double. Tom Koehler pitched six innings and earned the win. 

In Game 2, Mike Aviles picked up three hits and drove home a pair of runs for New Orleans. Aviles doubled home a pair in the second inning to start the scoring. In the third inning KC Serna homered to left field to make it a 5-0 game. 

Barnes drilled a solo home run in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 6-0. William Cuevas in a spot start pitched three and two third innings. Victor Payano worked two and a third and earned the win. 

The Baby Cakes out-hit the Sounds 23-6 in the two games on Monday.
