A Tuscaloosa man was hospitalized and another arrested after a late-night shooting on Moody Street.

Chartavius Martin, 21, is accused of shooting the victim, 34, in the abdomen during an argument Sunday night.

Tuscaloosa Police were called to the 3200 block of Moody Street at 11 p.m., said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit commander Lt. Jack Kennedy.

Martin was quickly identified as the suspect and taken into custody, he said. The victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition Monday morning.

"Martin was located and subsequent investigation found that during the course of an argument, Martin fired a handgun two to three times at the victim, striking him once," Kennedy said.

He was charged with attempted murder and being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail Monday with bond set at $60,000.
