Two men were arrested over the weekend after threatening another with a gun, police said.
Clayton J. Gil, 28, and Dylan Trahan, 28, both of Houma, are charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Houma Police said.
Police were called out around 5 p.m. Sunday to the east side of Houma after a man claimed an argument broke out after he contacted Gil about money owed to him over a cellphone, authorities said.
Gil retrieved a gun from underneath a utility trailer and threatened to shoot the victim, police said. Gil then handed the weapon to his friend, Trahan, who also threatened the man.
As the investigation continued, police found the two suspects near the intersection of Mary Ann and Ranger streets and took them into custody, authorities said. Officers found a .40-caliber semiautomatic pistol in Gil’s possession.
Both men were arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish jail. Trahan is being held on a $60,000 bond and Gil’s bond was set at $50,000.
