State senator to address chamber

State Sen. Norby Chabert, R-Houma, is the guest speaker for the Nov. 12 Houma-Terrbonne Chamber of Commerce general membership luncheon.

The 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. luncheon will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, 142 Library Drive, Houma.

Learn about lessons from tax changes

The Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce's Nov. 14 Business At Lunch event will focus on the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act.

Jodie Arceneaux and Robert Martin of LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors in Thibodaux will discuss lessons learned and practical guidance for navigating the revised tax law.

Paul's Agency announces two hires

Morgan City-based Paul’s Agency has hired Catherine Listi to its Morgan City office and Amy Gaudet to its Houma office.

A lifelong resident of St. Mary Parish and graduate of Nicholls State University, Listi joins the Morgan City office as a personal lines manager, the company said in a news release. She joined the team in September and is assisting with personal insurance needs for clients.

Listi has seven years of experience in insurance with a background in insurance sales and servicing, the company said. She is licensed in property and casualty, and life and health insurance.

In August, the company said, it hired Gaudet, a lifelong resident of Lafourche Parish, to the Houma office as a client service manager.

“Her strong work ethic and 19 years of experience assisting clients in the commercial insurance industry are valuable assets for our growing company and customers,” said Lance Trotti, vice president at Paul’s Agency.

Gaudet worked as an account executive for a nationwide insurance company and is licensed in property and casualty.

 

Chamber to hold appreciation event

The Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce will hold a Member Appreciation Shrimp Boil from 3-6 p.m. Oct. 29.

The chamber says it will provide members free food and drinks.

The event, sponsored by the Louisiana Seafood and Marketing Board, will be held at the chamber office, 6133 La. 311, Houma.
