The accident happened at the intersection of Eglin and McGriff Street on Friday afternoon.

FORT WALTON BEACH — An early afternoon wreck on Eglin Parkway left a motorcyclist seriously injured, but expected to survive.

The accident happened at about 1:15 p.m. Friday at the roadway's intersection with McGriff Street.

A driver attempting to cross Eglin Parkway struck the motorcyclist, who was heading south. The motorcyclist then veered off and and struck a second car, according to Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Robert Bage.

None of the occupants of the two cars were injured, he said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in serious condition.

The accident is under investigation, Bage said.
