Police Report for Sept. 13
Customers from a downtown night spot chased a man who stole a tip jar from the bar, but were unable to catch him. Police also looked for the man in the area, but were not able to find him. According to a police report, the man had been in Blackstone Pub on Broad Street for a while, and as closing time neared — at about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday — he grabbed a tip jar containing about $200 and ran with it, heading westbound on Broad Street.
A Gadsden man reported he ordered a crankshaft for a vehicle Aug. 13 from an ad in National Hotrod Association/National Dragster Magazine, and has not received the item by mail. He said he contacted the seller and has been given three different package tracking numbers that have not enabled him to find the item. He said the seller has stopped answering his calls.
An electric space heater was stolen when someone burglarized a residence in the 600 block of Ewing Avenue.
Someone broke a small window between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7:25 a.m. Wednesday at a florist shop in the 2100 block of Ewing Avenue. About $100 worth of stuffed animals were stolen, along with two plastic elephants and a garbage can.
A Tidmore Bend Road resident reported the theft of five different kinds of prescription medication, stolen from the location Tuesday.
A Wainwright Avenue resident told police someone used his credit/debit card six times between Aug. 31 and Sept. 2 without authorization.
