A 61-year-old Lockport man has died as a result of a utility vehicle crash Tuesday night, authorities said.

The crash took the life of Brian Terrebonne, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Around 8:55 p.m. deputies and paramedics responded to a utility vehicle crash near Bollinger Road in Lockport.

Through investigation, deputies learned Alvin Terrebonne, 80, of Lockport, was driving a Kubota utility vehicle with his son, Brian Terrebonne, who was a passenger, authorities said. The vehicle crashed into a ditch, ejecting Brian Terrebonne.

The vehicle then came to a rest on top of Brian Terrebonne, who was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Alvin Terrebonne suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
