A woman was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on Tuesday after her vehicle was hit and rolled over.

SHALIMAR — A woman was taken to a local hospital after her truck was hit and overturned in front of McDonald's on Eglin Parkway.

According to Capt. Jennifer Arne of the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District, the wreck was reported about 6:50 a.m.

As the woman was turning into McDonald's, the passenger side of her truck was hit by a car. The truck overturned and trapped the woman inside, Arne said.

Arne added that the woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. The other driver was not hurt.

"From the time that we got the call to the time that we had the patient extricated was six minutes," Arne said. "They were able to cut the front windshield out and the patient was able to come through"

One lane of Eglin Parkway was shut down for about 20 minutes.
