A group of local girl scouts recently met at a FWB's city water well to learn about potable water operation and water conservation.
FORT WALTON BEACH — Water Operations Supervisor James Valandingham on Monday shared information about the city’s potable water operations with Girl Scout Troop 740.
According to Fort Walton Beach spokesman Doug Rainer, the troop gathered at the city’s Water Well No. 3 at the corner of Wright Parkway and Holmes Boulevard, where Valandingham explained how the city pulls water from the ground, treats and stores the water, and distributes it.
He also shared information with the Girl Scouts about water conservation and all of the regulations the city follows to provide safe drinking water to the community.
The girls are currently working toward their Water Conservation Badge, Rainer said.
