The Bayou Bandits volleyball club will host tryout sessions at H.L. Bourgeois on Nov. 17.
The tryouts will consist of three sessions based on age groups.
The first session will be for 10U and 12U. Orientation and registration will be at 9-9:30 a.m., and the assessment, placement, practice and tryouts will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The second session will be for age groups 13U and 14U. Registration will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon, and the practice/tryouts will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. The third session is the 15U through 18U age groups.
Registration is from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and practice/tryout will follow from 2:30-4 p.m. A tryout fee of $50 will be charged for all players in order to participate.
The club will also have its Volley Tots program for girls ages 3-8. It is the fourth year of the Volley Tots, who won’t participate in tournament play but will only compete at practices. Volley Tots will practice weekly for a total of 10 sessions on some Wednesdays and mostly Sundays for an hour. Volley Tots registration is $40 and will be collected Nov. 17.
The coaching staff will consist of director Chip Didier, Peter Verret of H.L. Bourgeois High, Craig Hamner of Terrebonne High and other high school coaches and staff. Bayou Bandits will not interfere with any sports at their respective school.
