The Tuscaloosa City Council took the following action at its Tuesday meeting:

• Authorized request for street lighting system modifications.

• Authorized payment to Melinda Hudgins in settlement of a claim; total: $869.15.

• Authorized payment to Stacie Clark in settlement of a claim; total: $736.90.

• Authorized payment to Leonard Cates in settlement of a claim; total: $720.81.

• Authorized payment to Alabama Municipal Insurance Corporation; total: $7,500.

• Authorized change order No. 1 for the City-Wide Resurfacing project; total: $14,361.01.

• Authorized change order no. 3 for Brookhaven Drainage project; total: time extension of 19 calendar days.

• Directed the city attorney to prepare approval ordinance for the Development Plan of 221 Greensboro Ave., A Riverfront Zoning District Development.

• Tentatively approved Highland Park, a planned unit development, at the request of Builders Group Development LLC.

• Authorized the mayor to execute amendment No. 3 to task order directive No. 3 with Cassady Co. Inc. to provide additional engineering and related services in regard to the Brookhaven Drainage project; total: $increase of $19,080.

• Authorized a contract with Gilbert Pump and Mechanical Inc. and declaring a bid law exception pursuant to Alabama Code Section 41-15-15(b)(7).

• Authorized the mayor to execute a right-of-way permit to Trident Investment LLC.

• Authorized purchase of equipment, supplies and services for Infrastructure and Public Services for a Chevrolet Silverado form Caldwell Country Chevrolet; total: $33,780.

• Authorized purchase of equipment, supplies, and services for Infrastructure and Public Services for an employee id badge system from Laminex Inc.; total: $33,780.

• Authorized the mayor and police chief to execute grant participation documents with the Southeast Alabama Highway Safety Office for the FY2020 Community Traffic Safety Program.

• Authorized the seventh amendment to the Fiscal 2019 General Fund Reserve for Future Improvements Fund budget.

• Adopted the sixth amendment to the fiscal 2019 Water and Sewer Reserve for Future Improvements Fund budget.

• Amended Chapter 4 of the Code of Tuscaloosa.

• Adopted the seventh amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019 Water and Sewer Fund Budget.

• Introduced Zoning Amendment No. 1416 to rezone 0.56 acres at 1130 Jack Warner Parkway NE from BN to RMF-1 at the request of Al Cabaniss.

• Introduced Zoning Amendment No. 1417 to rezone 4.52 acres at 5030 Old Montgomery Highway from BH to MG at the request of GRACO LLC.

• Set Oct. 1 as the day for public hearing to consider adoption of Zoning Amendment No. 1416.

• Set Oct. 1 as the day for public hearing to consider adoption of Zoning Amendment No. 1417.

• Authorized the payment of bills; total: $110.32.
