Dancers will not be denied

Once again The Bobbie Massey School of Dance presented an outstanding dance recital. This time like the “Phoenix rising from the ashes,” Ms. Massey and her dance students overcame the loss of the dance studio due to severe hurricane damage. Also, there was a loss of many students that could not return to the school because of their families’ efforts to recover from the storm.

But, not to be denied, Bobbie found a way with help from the Jinks Middle School Principal who offered room in the school for the students to continue their practice and preparation for the annual school recital.

And with the storm losses of the Marina Civic Center and the Martin Theatre, Bobbie was able to arrange for the recital to be presented at the Arnold High School Auditorium.

Extra hard work and long hours at night were necessary to catch up the lost days of practice due to the hurricane. And so, the show must go on and the music, the lights, and especially the costumes were spectacular, but the dance performances were absolutely amazing.

We must give a huge thanks for the support of those individuals that helped the effort along the way. Especially Jinks Middle School and Arnold High School and the Arnold high School students that were so helpful to the presentation of the recital.

But we should not be surprised at our success because WE ARE BAY COUNTY STRONG! And Bobbie girl, you haven’t lost a step.
