A Panama City company has won the top award in a contest that spans the Southeast and the Eastern Caribbean for its renovation of the St. Joe Company’s Fish out of Water restaurant in WaterColor.
KISSIMMEE — A Panama City company has won the top award in a contest that spans the Southeast and the Eastern Caribbean for its renovation of the St. Joe Company’s Fish out of Water restaurant in WaterColor.
Garrett Anderson, president of Anderson Construction of North Florida and past president of the Bay Building Industries Association, was presented the Golden Aurora Award for Best Interior Renovation (commercial) at the 2019 Southeast Building Conference recently in Kissimmee, according to the BBIA and sebcshow.com.
The Aurora Awards, established in 1979, recognize projects by builders, planner, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other housing-related professionals each year, according to a news release from the BBIA. These include projects from Florida to North Carolina and west to Texas and includes most of the Southeast and the Eastern Caribbean.
Top vote recipients in each category are named Silver Aurora Awards Honorees and makes them finalists for the grand award.
“After the wrath of Hurricane Michael, this award is wonderful for the soul and will lift our spirits as we move forward,” Garrett said in his acceptance speech, the release said, adding that Garrett thanks everyone involved in the project and specifically his superintendent, Eric Brown.
