K. Ben Gore of Albertville will be among five people recognized for their contributions to Alabama’s agriculture industry at the 2019 Alabama Agriculture Hall of Honor banquet on Feb. 7.

The event will take place at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National. A reception is set for 5:30 p.m., followed by the banquet at 6:15 p.m.

Gore, inductee in the agribusiness category, is retired CEO and 42-year employee of Alabama Farm Credit.

Others being honored are Auburn Professor Emeritus John W. Jensen in the education/government sector; J. Dan Smalley of Arab, a retired poultry farmer and longtime advocate for the industry, in the production sector; and the late William I. Etheridge Jr. of Bessemer, a successful dairy farmer and promoter of the industry, and the late Roy N. Hereford Jr. of Faunsdale, an auctioneer, as Pioneer Award winners.
