JaLon Johnson poured in 30 points to lead the Hillcrest boys basketball team to a 65-35 win on Friday in the Patriots’ first area game of the season.
Hillcrest came out firing, hitting its first five 3-point attempts and led 21-4 at the end of the first quarter. Christian Jones scored 19 points for Hillcrest.
Keyshon Lockhart had 11 points to lead Bryant.
Hillcrest (8-3, 1-0, 6A Area 7) plays at Northridge on Tuesday.
Sedrick Pettway scored 11 points and Trey Bostic 10 for Northridge.
D.J. Robertson led Holt and the game with 17 points while Keunta Jordan scored 14.
Northridge (7-4) hosts Hillcrest on Tuesday.

BUHL – Drew Long scored 19 points and Emanuel Lucious 17 in the win.
Northside had the game scoring highs with Carr Hubbert leading all scorers with 23 points. Andy Maluda scored 21 and Harrison Boyd 12.

Tuscaloosa Academy extended its win streak to 12 games, dating back to last season's championship run. The Knights were led by Hadrian McNeil with 11 points. The Knights allowed just two points in the second half. TA plays Saturday against Bessemer to close out the Tuscaloosa Invitational Tournament.

GARDENDALE – The Warriors’ loss came in the second round of the Torch Classic Invitational. Three Tuscaloosa Christian players scored in double figures, led by 18 points from Chris Brewer. Caleb Ramsey scored 16 points and Landon Pate 10.

Mason Mulanix scored 20 points and Jaylon Stevenson 16 in the win.
ACA’s leaders were Dan Parker with 13 points and Luke Skinner with 12.

WINFIELD – Winfield’s scoring leaders were Luke Jungels and Landon Hinshaw, both with 16, Graham Bradford with 12 and Nolen Miles with 11 points.
Fayette County was led by Trevor Billups’ 23 points. Harrison Whitley scored 16 and Tre’Darion Walker 10.
Paul W. Bryant 11
A’Nya Banks scored 16, Jada Richards scored 12 points, Shetecia Small 11 and Antoria Childress 10 for Hillcrest.
Bryant’s top scorer with seven points was Karissa Johnson.

GUIN – Berry (3-3) advanced to play Saturday at 6 p.m. for the championship of the Northwest Alabama Conference Tournament with the semifinals win against Marion County.
Brooke Hill had a career high 22 points for Berry while Zoe Mauldin scored 12 and Tyner Beth Bowling 10. Hill scored 16 of her points in the second half, scoring 11 points in the fourth period.
Marion County was led by Josie Lipsey’s 12 points.
Sipsey Valley 61,
BUHL – Taylor Smith led the win with 26 points, and Yasmine Turner scored 13.
For Northside, Taylor Stroud had nine points and Karley Michaels eight.
Sipsey Valley remains undefeated at 10-0 and will host Gordon on Monday.

Greene County 28
EUTAW – Emil Owens scored 17 points and made 17 rebounds for Hale County. Peyounce Williams had 10 points and eight steals. Jaidrain Mitchell had 10 assists to go with five points.
Nykearia Pearson led Greene County with 11 points.

Tuscaloosa County 49
NORTHPORT – Co-scoring leaders for Central, both with 19 points, were Quintasia Leatherwood and Mackenzie Mahome. Mahome also had 12 rebounds and seven assists. Sakya White had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
For Tuscaloosa County, Kaylyn Colvin had 18 points and Alexzandra Yarbrough 13.
