Gala on the Bayou is scheduled for 6:30-10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at La Patinoire, or "The Rink," banquet hall, 256 Horseshoe Road, Schriever.

“We will spotlight the honorees at the gala for helping to promote the mission of the American Cancer Society, which has eradicated two-thirds of all terminal cancers,” said Penny Cade, a regional senior community development manager for the Cancer Society. “They were selected by a volunteer committee from the community.”

Honorees are:

Tim Allen, CEO of  Ochsner St. Anne Hospital in Raceland.
Dr. Laura Chauvin, a cancer specialist at Thibodaux Regional Cancer Center.
Dr. Barry Landry, a general surgeon at Thibodaux Surgical Specialists.
Tommy Meyer, a certified financial planner at Meyer Financial Group in Thibodaux
Matt Ory, an attorney with AMO Trial Lawyers in Thibodaux.
Greg Stock, CEO of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

The evening will include dancing, food from local restaurants and auctions. Tickets cost $250 per person, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
