NICEVILLE — A man who was caught stealing from Walmart said he was planning on picking up a few things before he rode his bike back to Louisiana.

The man was arrested on Aug. 22 after a loss prevention officer at the Niceville store observed him putting various items in his bag and then walking out of the store with no intention of paying for them, according to the Niceville Police Department arrest report.

The value of the items the man allegedly stole was $57.35.

The man told police he had no intention of paying for the merchandise and said he “was picking up a few things to eat so he could ride his bicycle back to Louisiana.”

He was charged with retail theft and giving a false name to law enforcement.
