Albertville police responded on Friday to a possible burglary and arrested a man who led Boaz police on a stolen car chase interrupted when a patrol car flipped on Alabama Highway 205, according to Albertville Chief Jamie Smith.
Albertville police were called at about 8 a.m. to a residence just off Turnpike Road. They found Jeremy Sonny Lee Kimbrell, 38, of Albertville, asleep inside a lake house near a private lake. Officers arressted him without incident, Smith said.
Kimbrell is being held on a charge of third-degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Boaz police positively identified him as the subject of a vehicle pursuit Thursday afternoon that resulted in the police car crash on Alabama 205 near Butler Street.
Boaz Assistant Chief Rusty Rowan said when Albertville authorities sort out charges against Kimbrell, Boaz police likely will bring charges resulting from the stolen vehicle and the chase.
He said the officer involved in the crash suffered a mild concussion and minor injuries. He was treated and released at a local hospital.
Smith said in addition to the Albertville and Boaz charges, Guntersville police have warrants for Kimbrell’s arrest.
He is being held in the Albertville City Jail. No bond has been set.
