Police responded at about 2 a.m. Friday to the 1100 block of Stillman Avenue after getting multiple calls about a man screaming that he’d been robbed. They found a 41-year-old Rainbow City man in an alley, with a busted lip, a bloody nose and abrasions to the left side of his face. Medics were called, and the man told police that he’d been drinking at The Hideout in East Gadsden and three men asked him for a ride. They told him to take them to North 15th Street, and to take the alley running parallel to Stillman Avenue. One of the men told the victim he needed to use the bathroom, but when he stopped the vehicle, the men assaulted him, taking his wallet and his iPhone 7. They fled in different directions. The victim drove himself to a local hospital, with officers following to make sure he arrived safely.
Someone pushed in the air conditioning unit and ransacked a room between 1:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 1200 block of Jupiter Street. A safe or lock box was stolen.
A woman reported someone broke into a storage unit Thursday in the 400 block of George Wallace Drive and stole 12 suits of women’s winter clothing.
