Police arrested a 36-year-old Houma man, who left the site of a motorcycle crash on Bayou Black Drive Monday, after they found dozens of ecstasy pills and his wallet at the accident, authorities said.
John Gathen was arrested on multiple drug charges after he was released from a local medical facility, authorities said.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene of the accident about 9 p.m. and found the driver of the motorcycle had left, authorities said.
Witnesses told the deputies the driver lost control of the bike while speeding through a curve in the road, authorities said. During the investigation, a deputy found 51 suspected ecstasy pills — worth over $1,000 — drug paraphernalia and Gathen’s wallet inside the motorcycle, authorities said.
When the deputies located Gathen, who was found with a bag marijuana, they arrested and booked him at the Terrebonne Parish jail, authorities said.
