When the Terrebonne High School class of 1958 convenes its 60 year reunion Saturday, among the surviving classmates will be many of the Schriever School eighth-grade class of 1954.

One of them, Gwen LeBlanc, still a resident of Schriever, supplied the photo and the names of most of the classmates shown.

The eighth-grade class of Schriever School was photographed outside the school after the usual graduation in 1954.

Class member Gwen LeBlanc supplied the names and known status of the entire group, except for one unidentifiable face.

LeBlanc has asked that anyone who can help update the list with married names or other information call her at 446-6486.

"Back in those days," LeBlanc said, "we had eighth-grade graduations." Ordinarily, the class would move on to high school for the ninth grade, but LeBlanc's class remained at Schriever for another year and went to Terrebonne high in 1956 as 10th-graders.

Coincidentally, Dallas Rogers, who had been principal at Schriever, also moved to Terrebonne High in 1956 and was LeBlanc's principal when she graduated from Terrebonne in 1958.

Rogers died several years ago, but at least one of the Schriever faculty members, Beverly Olivier Tucker, an elementary teacher who also coached girls basketball and other athletics, survives and, LeBlanc said, is today an organist at St. Bridgette Catholic Church, which is situated within sight of Schriever School.

The Terrebonne High class of 1958 reunion will be held 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the Woodmen of the World Hall, Hollywood Road, Houma, following a 4 p.m. Mass at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with class members participating in the choir.
