NICEVILLE – Officers checking on the welfare of a possibly suicidal man ended up arresting him.

The 36-year-old Niceville man had posted on Facebook that he was considering ending his life. When they went to his house, his girlfriend told them where he was at Lion’s Park.

But they found him at a home one block away. When they searched him for weapons to make sure he couldn’t harm himself, a bag of methamphetamine fell out of his left pants leg, according to his Niceville Police Department arrest report.

He was charged with possession of drugs without a prescription.
