PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Grand Lagoon Coalition has canceled the Tacos & Tequila Fest, which had been rescheduled for May 12, because too many of the restaurants will be busy with Mother's Day weekend.
"We are going to pack the trophies back up and try again next spring," said Tracy Rudhall, Grand Lagoon Coalition board member and director of partner engagement for the Panama City Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.
But be on the lookout for specials at participating Grand Lagoon restaurants and bars, which have created margarita and fish taco recipes, and a chance to win Tacos & Tequila Fest T-shirts or tickets to next year's event.
If you purchased a ticket for the 2018 Grand Lagoon Tacos & Tequila Fest, return it to the local place of purchase for a full refund. If you purchased online, your ticket(s) will be automatically refunded.
The third annual Bloody Mary Festival will return this fall.
