PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will offer hepatitis C testing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at all five regional GCVHCS locations, including at the Panama City Beach clinic on 2600 Veterans Way off Magnolia Beach Road.

The walk-in testing is open to all veterans enrolled in GCVHCS care. Other participating regional GCVHCS clinics are at Eglin Air Force Base, and in Pensacola, Mobile, Alabama, and Biloxi, Mississippi.

“Since Jan. 1, 2014, the GCVHCS has treated 1,183 veterans with hepatitis C and 96 percent have been cured of the virus,” a press release stated.

Veterans who are not enrolled for VA health care can initiate enrollment at one of the GCVHCS clinics above by bringing an ID card and their DD Form 214, or call 855-574-7296 to complete an enrollment application via phone. Veterans also can enroll online at www.vets.gov.
