NICEVILLE — A woman is out $3,700 after being scammed by what she thought was an energy drink company that was going to pay her for advertising on her vehicle.

According to Niceville Police Department call history records, the woman contacted police on Feb. 14 to advise them that she deposited a check for $3,700 but was informed by her bank that it was fake.

She said she was in contact with what she thought was an energy drink company. She said they told her to send them two payments of $1,740 and they would send out people to install decals on her vehicle “for advertising and money.” The installers never arrived.

The company sent her a check for $3,700 that turned out not to be good, and the woman realized she had been scammed.
