LAS VEGAS - The West Alabama Tigers sit in sixth place after the opening round of the Winona State Invitational at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Men's Golf competition anchored by Alec Riley's opening round effort.
Riley shot a first round, two-under 70 on the Par 72 course that stretches 7,152 yards to put him in third place as an individual and was one of only five players under par during the first day. Rocky Mountain College's Michael Tait tops the leaderboard with a seven-under 65.
UWA (301) shot 13-over par as a team and sit in sixth place behind the leader Rocky Mountain College who shot a two-under 286.
Bannon "Boo" O'Pry is in 16th place with a two-over 74, Andrew Cronwright shot a three-over 75 to sit in 17th place, Mark Johnson went 10-over 82 and Korlan Trull shot a 13-over 85.
The tournament host by Winona State University concludes Tuesday.
