Beau Manno, 9, a Houma native and resident loves ramen and cooking.
That is why his parents encouraged him to try to find a healthier recipe for ramen that would not contain all the sodium and the chemicals.
"My homemade ramen is my favorite dish to cook," Manno said. "I really love stirring all of the ingredients together and smelling them as they combine."
Manno loves to hang around in the kitchen when his father is cooking, so he can learn by observing how the different recipes are prepared.
The first time Manno made his homemade ramen, everyone was really surprised with how good it tasted. One of the key ingredients Manno uses in the kitchen is his family.
"Being with my family is the most important part of a great meal," Manno said.
At his short age, Manno already knows cooking will be an important part of his life.
"I just love cooking and might want to do it for my job one day," Manno said. "Being a chef would be cool."
