HANCEVILLE -- Traditional state girls basketball power Sparkman outscored Tuscaloosa County by 18 points in the final period to come from behind for a 66-53 victory to eliminate the Wildcats at the Northwest Regional.

TCHS (20-12) led the AHSAA Class 7A regional semifinal 30-24 at halftime and 49-44 going into the final period. Sparkman (28-5) finished the game on a 22-2 run to pull away.

Tamia Knight scored 20 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals to lead Tuscaloosa County. Nadia Spencer scored nine points. Myresha King added seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Sierra McCullough scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Sparkman. Derienne Black added 18 points and eight rebounds. TJ Webster scored 15 points and Deyana Dodd scored 11.
