FORT WALTON BEACH —A hotel manager is facing three charges after allegedly selling a variety of drugs from the hotel lobby.
Detectives with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, along with the agency’s SWAT team, executed a lawful narcotics search warrant on the lobby and Room 205 at Holiday Lodge and Suites at 209 Miracle Strip Pkwy S.W., on Tuesday.
In both the room and the lobby, detectives and officers encountered four individuals within the areas to be searched. Law enforcement discovered Fentanyl, methamphetamine, cannabis and drug paraphernalia that included packaging materials, scales, and other miscellaneous drug equipment.
One individual was arrested. Michael Frederick Martin, a 53-year-old Fort Walton Beach man who manages the Holiday Lodge and Suites, was charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance, operation of a nuisance drug location, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He told officers that he sold narcotics to patrons from the lobby of the business and said they'd find meth inside of his car, according to his Fort Walton Beach Police Department arrest report.
The remaining individuals at the location were released, but the investigation is ongoing.
