NICEVILLE — The Lady Raiders entered Wednesday night's matchup against No.2 Gulf Coast State looking to avenge their past two losses to the Commodores – the only losses of the season for the third-ranked Northwest Florida women. Coming off four straight conference wins against Panhandle foes, the NWF State women were ranked third in the nation right behind the second-ranked Lady Commodores. But once again, Gulf Coast proved to be too much for the Raiders to handle and handed them their third loss of the season.

The NWF State women were defeated 63-43, giving them their third loss of the season. NWF was outscored 14-2 in the second quarter. They moved to 22-3 overall and 7-3 in conference play. The Raiders were led in scoring by Trinity Baptiste who posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Only one other member of the team scored in double-figures - Jade Lewis with 13. The Raiders shot only 28 percent from the field, while Gulf Coast State made nearly half of their shots. With tonight’s loss against Gulf Coast, the Raiders must win one game or a Tallahassee loss will secure the Lady Raiders a spot in the post-season.

On Saturday night, the second-ranked NWF State men were handed their first loss of the season, losing to Pensacola 87-70 on the road. This loss ended their streak of 23 consecutive conference wins, going back to 2015. But with tonight’s 81-62 defeat against Gulf Coast State and Chipola’s loss to Tallahassee on Tuesday night, the Raiders have secured the Panhandle Conference championship – their fourth year in a row.

NWF State was led in scoring by Andres Feliz who put up 15 points with 6 assists and 5 rebounds on the night. Kelvin Robinson (14), Karim Ezzeddine (12), Jonas Parker (11), Chris Duarte (10) each contributed double-figure scoring. As a team, the Raiders shot 49 percent from the field.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday night when they travel to Marianna to take on Chipola. Women tip off at 5:30pm with the men’s game following at 7:30pm.
