Voice of the Lord Ministries with Kerry F. Bueche will be held at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday of the month at St. Anthony Church. If you would like to visit the Adoration Chapel located behind the church, call the church office at 872-0922.

Bereavement: Bereavement food groups are formed to minister to the bereaved of St. Anthony by providing food for the immediate family, about 20-25 people, to take home on the day of the funeral of a loved one. The groups consist of volunteers who prepare food to take to the church office on the day of the funeral. We extend to you an invitation to be part of this ministry to the bereaved. If you wish to participate, please contact the parish office at 872-0922.

St. Anthony Altar Society: The St. Anthony Altar Society has begun collecting dues for 2018. Dues are single $5, couple $6 and family $8. The duties of the Altar Society are cleaning linens and candleholders and purchasing host and other needed items. Anyone wishing to join the organization is welcome. Active and inactive memberships are available.

Sanctuary lamp: You can purchase the sanctuary lamp in memory of deceased love ones for $3 for a week, $12 for a month and $156 for the year. There are envelopes located in the back of church for Altar Society dues and sanctuary lamp money.

Tutoring: Free tutoring for grades first through 12th will be available at the gym from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday. If your child is having trouble in a particular subject or needs help with homework, he or she can attend. Tutoring runs with the schedule of the school calendar. Call the gym to enroll at 876-4270.

Bayou Black gym: The gym offers a fitness studio that consists of an elliptical trainer, treadmills, a bicycle and a weight station. Cost: $40.

Well wishes: Get well wishes go out to Susan Boudreaux, Sheila Foret, Joyce Trahan, Meryl Portier and Karen Wick.

Bayou Black Elementary School: The school is collecting labels from Box Tops for Education, Community Coupons, Campbell’s, used ink jet and laser cartridges and used cell phones. These items may be sent to school any time. All money made from these companies help to buy supplies and incentives for our students.
