The Tuscaloosa City Council took the following action at its Tuesday meeting:

• Declared property surplus and authorizing its disposal.

• Authorized change order No. 1 for Riverview/McFarland Water Main Pier Replacement; deductive total: $61,390.

• Authorized payment to Deeneesedra Gaitor in settlement of a claim; total: $1,647.97.

• Authorized payment to Alfa Insurance in settlement of a claim; total: $549.50.

• Authorized payment to Odessa Smith in settlement of a claim; total: $200.

• Declared sole source and authorizing contract with Kustom Signals Inc. for in-car video cameras and associated accessories; total: $151,415.

• Declared sole source and authorizing contract with Andritz Separation Inc.; total: $145,654.

• Authorized the mayor to execute an agreement between the city of Tuscaloosa and the National Museum of the United States Air Force; total, not to exceed $10,000.

• Authorized the mayor to execute an agreement for preliminary engineering between the state of Alabama and the city of Tuscaloosa for widening, striping and other improvements on Watermelon Road from Alabama Highway 6/U.S. Highway 82 to Snows Mills Avenue; city’s estimated cost share: $40,000.

• Authorized the execution of a proposal agreement with GIS Inc. for GeoEvent installation and a situational awareness viewer; total, not to exceed: $59,600.

• Tentatively awarded a public works contract to John Plott Co. Inc. for the 14th Avenue Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project contingent upon approval by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management; total: $497,155.55.

• Abandoned two sanitary sewer line easements Lot 1 Andrew Dixon Estate Subdivision Jackson Apartments Subdivision.

• Adopted the 46th amendment to the Public Works Capital Fund budget.

• Adopted the eighth amendment to the fiscal year 2018 General Fund budget.

• Voted to adopt annexation No. 660 to annex  35.37 acres along Ol’ Colony Road, south of the Townes of North River. A second vote to finalize the annexation will be held next week because of a lack of unanimous consent by the City Council.

• Introduced Zoning Amendment No. 1381 to amend the text of the Zoning Ordinance amending various sections pertaining to Riverfront Development District Uses; Chapter 24, Sections 24-237 and 24-239.

• Introduced Zoning Amendment No. 1382 to amend the text of the Zoning Ordinance amending various sections pertaining to Mixed Use Districts; Sections 24-285, 24-287 through 24-291.1, 24-295, 24-297 through 24-300 and 24-304.

• Introduced Zoning Amendment No. 1386 to rezone approximately 0.37 acres located at 510 13th St. from BGO to RMF-2U.

• Set March 20 as the day for public hearing to consider adoption of Zoning Amendment No. 1381.

• Set March 20 as the day for public hearing to consider adoption of Zoning Amendment No. 1382.

• Set March 20 as the day for public hearing to consider adoption of Zoning Amendment No. 1386.

• Authorized Infrastructure and Public Services to execute a grant application to Snapple for recycling bins.

• Authorized a contract for design work with TTL Inc. for the Rice Mine Road Culvert Replacement; total: $98,700.

• Authorized the payment of bills; total: $334,000.16.
