Those in attendance at the Walton County Board of County Commission meeting Tuesday evening saw a short meeting that did not draw out many in the community.
During the quasi-judicial part, commissioners quickly approved requests from three proposed developments. Those are Watersound Origins Phase IV, Eden Landing's PUD amendment, and Mobile Fixture Showroom/Warehouse.
Watersound Origins Phase IV is a major development submitted by Innerlight Engineering Corp., on behalf of Watersound Company LLC. They requested approval to develop 361 single-family residential lots and associated infrastructure on 178.55 acres with a future land use of Coastal Village 1. The project is located at 530 Pathways Drive. The project passed with no opposition.
Eden Landing is also a major development order application submitted by Innerlight Engineering Corporation on behalf of Artisan Tw, LLC, which requested approval to modify setbacks and saw little discussion. The project consists of a mixed-use plan for 35 single-family homes, 10 multi-family homes, and 26,000-square-feet of general commercial development with nine lofts located above. This will be built on 11.74 acres with a future land-use of neighborhood infill located on the west side of County Road 395N. The applicant proposed removing the design code to allow for more flexible building, aesthetics and setbacks providing 10 feet in the front, 5 feet side and rear setbacks for all single-family homes, plus 6 feet in the front, 5 feet on the side, and 3 feet in the rear setbacks for multi-family duplexes. The request passed.
Mobile Fixture Showroom/Warehouse is also a major development that requested approval to construct a 25,088-square-feet kitchen showroom/warehouse. The project is located on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 331 and Norris Cutoff Road on 1.87 acres with a future land use of Light Industrial.
In other action, commissioners scheduled a special meeting for 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the South Walton Annex to hear proposed amendments from Sandestin Investments is requesting to its Development of Regional Impact Notice of Proposed Change. This is the result of an agreement Sandestin has reached with its homeowner association.
