The Coast Guard transported an injured man from a fishing vessel about 12 nautical miles south of Grand Isle Saturday.

The 62-year-old man was suffering from prolonged flu-like symptoms and had fallen, sustaining face, neck and back injuries, the Coast Guard said.

Coast Guard New Orleans said it received a report of his condition at 4:38 p.m. and launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from its Grand Isle station. The crew arrived at 6:28 p.m. and the man was transferred to Lady of the Sea Hospital in Galliano, where he was reported in stable condition.
