An arson suspect eluded police for a week before he was arrested Thursday afternoon.
Jacquantis Dewayne Noland-Turner, 22, is accused of setting a fire at his ex-girlfriend's residence on April 12.
Investigators said that the woman was hiding in the bathroom of a home in the 900 block of 36th Avenue off Stillman Boulevard when he set fire to clothing. Officers called to the scene found that gas had been poured around the front door and exterior of the house.
Noland-Turner is charged with first-degree arson. He was being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail Friday with bond set at $60,000.
