Jay High School in Santa Rosa County will hosts its Veterans Day breakfast Tuesday in the media center at 9:30 a.m., followed by an assembly in the school auditorium.
Area veterans have been invited to attend.
The Crestview High School Junior ROTC students assisted local veterans installing flags in front of the school to honor veterans.
Last week, Pryor Middle School hosted a Veterans Day celebration by inviting service members to share their experiences in the military during social studies classes. Students could ask questions about the guests’ careers in the military.
The South Walton High School students who are also part of the Magnet Innovation Center/STEAM, welcomed guest speaker Dr. Damion Dunlap, a professor of mechanical engineering, Florida State University/Panama City Beach.
He discussed engineering fields, pathways to different programs and projects upon which he worked during his career.
The science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics students look toward the Nov. 21 ribbon cutting of the new SWHS MIC facility.
In October, the Fort Walton Beach High School Viking Band earned superior ratings at the District 1 Marching Band Performance Assessment, marking the 51st consecutive year that the band has excelled.
Also in October, the Choctawhatchee High School Style Marchers took first place and Grand Champions with a score of 97.16 at the Pea River Classic Marching Band Competition at Elba High School in Alabama. Thirteen bands competed.

Meigs Middle School will host its fall book fair through Nov. 21, 7 a.m. to 2:15, although the fair is closed Nov. 15.
"Books are a great addition to your child’s holiday wish list," said MMS representative Carla Hunt. "There’s a way to send your student to the book fair cash-free. Visit our school’s website to connect to the link that will make that possible."
